Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ

Kierland Golf Club doesn't spend a lot of time trying to wow golfers with its slope rating or design pedigree. Oh, those are fine; it's just that Kierland's management decided a day here should be about the overall experience. The three Scott Miller-designed nines are in good shape, but you're as likely to come away remembering the air conditioner unit in the back of your cart, or the bagpiper playing as the sun set.

The golf course itself won't terrorize a modest resort golfer shaking off the winter rust. The Acacia nine is the can't-miss track with the most inventive holes. Its seven-to-nine finishing stretch is something else you won't forget.
