Nice view /good time
Decent golf course with some great views of both the mountains and the city. Good value .decent if not great course. Good driving range
Enjoyable course with great views
Lovely course very playable but also challenging. The greens are very hard and fast. The views of the mountains and downtown Phoenix are great. Good value.
Bargain Seeker's Delight
Topography similar to but hillier than Aguila, with excellent views. Play was about 4:15 on a busy Saturday. In the normal range. For 30 bucks in high season, this is a great value. Fairway markers minimal, and my GPS did not work, but I will definitely go back.
Cart service adequate. Staff helpful. Ongoing improvements at some tee boxes. 2 of us played with two very pleasant people.
This will be in rotation with muni courses like Kenny Mac, Aguila, Dobson.
Great Course
Played the course for the very first time. Teed off early morning and the temperature was under 50 degrees so it was a bit chilly for the Phoenix area. Played with a husband and wife from the UK which was really great and we had an awesome time. The course was in great shape and it's a challenging but fair test of golf.
Good time and good value
Greens were much better than in the past. Tee boxes still need work. Fairways were not over-seeded making for a few bad lies after decent shots.
pelouse jaune
Était mieux l'an passé. La pelouse était jaunâtre. Pas trop de difficulté sur le parcours.
Great course
Great Golf course, great service and great burger. Thanks for a great Arizona experience.
Very Nice affordable course
Affordable and fun golf course in Phoenix near South Mountain foothills.. This course has some very nice scenery. Fairways were good and greens rolled very average. I will definitely play again in the near future.
Vistal Value
Vistal is a great value during the peak golfing season of the valley. The fairways and greens were in good shape. Had a few bumps on the greens, but nothing to whine about. Several of the holes have excellent views of the south mountain foothills and downtown Phoenix. I will definitely play this course again.
Pleasantly Surprised
The price was very good. Although the course was not in great shape, it was okay. However, the course had very good character. There are a couple of holes where we hit our tee shots (and our approach shots) into the backdrop of the mountains -- really cool! We then played a few elevated holes where we could see the entire valley, the skyline, and the mountains -- all at the same time. We also had a couple of holes that were risk-reward with water and/or layup areas. The combination of all these things made it a very pleasant surprise.
nice course
We played on Sunday and the greens where slow. They where much better on Thursday.
Nice course
The layout was nice. The greens where a little shaggy and slow but in good condition.
this course has great views
I enjoyed the course* it was a challenge at times and has nice viees of phow2
Slow, Poor Conditions
5 hour pace of play, lumpy soft fairways, and the greeens were slow and varying levels of firm.
Good value but a frustrating round.
Slowest Play Ever!
4 hours and we quit after #11 - cannot believe i was not offered a refund after telling them about it. not once did i see anyone out on the course trying to keep things moving along. When i did tell someone that we quit after the 11th hole, they could have cared less. I actually live around the area and i feel like i wasted my money yesterday.
Nice to escape the overseeding!!
After playing so many overseeded courses over the past month, it was wonderful to play a course that did not have shag carpet greens. The playing conditions were amazing and putts actually rolled instead of hopping and jumping plus I only needed my putter for long putts and not a long iron. I was a happy camper all day at Vistal!
Fun course
Me and my brother have been gettig into golf, trying out courses around the valley! This was a challenging course yet had many opportunities for all levels if play with big nice fairways transitioning to some tough greens! The way the course in designed the pace of play says good. We will definitely be returning to this course!
best condition in a LONG time
greens are excellent, a little firm and a little quick
most fairways are in very good condition, a few dry spots.
Wet
Played this course with a buddy of mine. We were the first tee time off, but there was a group of regulars that went off before us, waited the first two holes and never seen them after that. The course played in the shadows of South Mountain and the views were awesome looking as well as the city views. The course was over watered, very damp until the sun was able to dry it out a bit which was about the 10th hole. At least we weren't chasing the water sprinklers being turned off. It is a great course to try, even if you have to drive across town. I would definitely play it again, well worth the value as well as your time.
Deceptive greens, something a little different
Booked online, pleasant surprise. Pro - shop welcome was warm and efficient, great price for a 1:30 Teetime. Rental women's clubs-could stand to upgrade. Course in very good shape - bit dry in places on fairways but some standing water indicates staff trying to maintain a pretty decent course. Kudo's to Greenskeeper. Greens were tough and in great shape. Cart girl was pleasant and found us regularly. Appreciated in the 96 degree day. Would definitely play again and will recommend.
