Omni Tucson National's Catalina Course would be a good golf course if no PGA Tour events had ever been held here. The fact that there have been more than 30 adds some mystique and aura to the 7,262 yards. You'll have nice green fairways to try and reenact the shots of legends and non-legends past, too.

Like any other snowbird seeking warmth from the Indiana winter, Notre Dame freshman golfer Steve Colnitis came to Arizona to knock some rust off his chilly golf game during the winter holiday break. When making the drive out to Heritage Highlands, you're going to see road signs that say OPEN RANGE with an illustration of a cow. Yes, you're out there. It takes a bit of a drive to get to this course northwest of Tucson in Marana.

When The Golf Club at Vistoso was named by Golf Digest as the best new course in Arizona in 1996, the area around the club was only in its infancy. There were a few homes around and there were plenty of roads that led to the club, but it was nothing like the surroundings these days.

Ventana has always been one of those courses that could get away with charging a little more than the rest of the competition in Tucson. If you aren't a member or don't stay at the hotel, chances are you have never stepped foot on the Canyon or Mountain Course.
