Glen Lakes Municipal Golf Course not only provides a good game of golf but also excellent practice facilities and a learning center that offers free lessons. The course features several lengthy par 3s and par 4s. It is beginner friendly but it also offers plenty of challenge to the experienced golfer. Water comes into play on nine holes and the rolling terrain creates tricky uneven lies. There are also strategically placed bunkers protecting the greens to watch out for. Glen Lakes Municipal Golf Course boasts outstanding practice facilities including a lighted driving range that stays open late and in the summer there are misting systems to keep golfers cool.

Course was in poor condition.
I have played this course many times in the past. The current condition is not up to the past standards which were barely above average. T boxes were weedy and the greens were rough. Fairways for winter in AZ were weedy and not kept clean many branches and leaves on the fairways. Played last summer in much better conditions.
Nice little course; good value.
Usually not crowded. Nice staff. Over-seeding seems to be having difficulty staying thick & green.
Improving all the time.
New equipment is helping with course improvement. Glad the city of Glendale is waking up and supporting this little gem. The committee staff are a real pleasure
Ok
We got what we paid for not at all disappointed. Simple coarse warm up lfor weekend.
Nice staff , beautiful weather all good. Would we go back probably not , far from home .
Good bang for your buck
Always a pleasant place to play nine holes. Has a few challenging part three and some fun par fours.
Glen Lakes Golf Review
The course is a nice local neighborhood course to go out and play 9 holes. It is a mature course and soon I understand that it will be shut down. I will be sad to see it go. It has been a foundation of golf in Glendale for decades. The Pro, Thom Harrison, has always been friendly and helpful.
Great olf golfcourse
its a little run down from the years its been there, but it still was a fantastic golf experience for the price. definitely will keep going back.
Couldn't just play this course once!
This was my second time walking 9 holes here, and, despite my score, I had a lot of fun! I just started playing again, and I would recommend this to anybody looking for a deal. The fairways and greens are in really good condition, and the staff was really accomodating. I'll be back!
Enough 4 and 3 par holes mixed to make it a fun course to play. Very friendly staff members,.
Great little course
Great course for beginners or just a quick fun round. 9 holes only... but fun just the same. Good value for the money.
Great Value
My wife and I had just arrived in town and were anxious to play. The forecast was bad so we opted not to spend a fortune playing in marginal weather. We walked and were not pushed by groups behind us in carts. We were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the greens. An absolute great value for the money! We enjoyed it enough we returned a few days later.
Glen Lakes Golf Course - Glendale, AZ
This is a very weak excuse for a golf course. Fortunately, it did not cost very much. My wife and I played nine holes for less than $30. That was the positive side of the situation. Person at the course was very nice and accommodating. Everything went well. All in all it was a good experience. The golf course is just not a very good golfing experience. I don't think I've ever played on a course of that poor caliber before. It made us appreciate how great the golf courses are in our hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.
Winter Bargain
Visited a friend who'd just moved to Cave Creek 6 months ago. He complained about the price of Winter golf but I found this course on Golf Now for $10 ($14+ with fees) for 9 holes.
The course is a little rough around the edges but very playable. The staff was great and full of info and suggestions for future play. Now my friend can find great deals like this on his own!!
Basic Muni-course, Great Value For a Quickie 9
I've played this course several times in the last few months, and it has been a regular "go-to" when I want to get a quick 9 in during the week. The value is unmatched (especially the Hot Deal). Although the course is a little rough in areas, there is plenty of playability here and enough interest in the holes to offer a bit of a challenge for the mid-handicapper like myself. There's more par 4's than other 9-hole courses in the area, and they vary in coaxing the golfer to play draw or cut shots off the tee, and vary in length to allow for choices of club selection as well. The ability to opt for walking or cart is also beneficial, in case I want exercise or just play a quick round during lunch and head back to the office. Pace of play is pretty good, can sometimes be slower, but still not too bad, and slower players are always friendly enough to let faster players through.
The greens are average to small in size, with slight undulations, making it just enough of a challenge for dialing in the short game and making putts.
There are very few sand traps, so not much opportunity to work on that part of the game. Looks like there may have been a few around each green at one time, but they are now grass resembling the rough, and still very much a challenge to hit out of. Some of the tee boxes on the par 3's are offset by difficulty, so one day I'll play the blue tees, and another day the whites to offer distance variety and a different look at the holes.
For golfers like me who like to practice and hone their game on the course instead of the range, this location is a great option. You can basically play a round for what a large bucket of balls would be at a range. As I said, it's a perfect way to hone your actual course play without breaking the bank.
Fair Play
The overall course was in good conditions. My only gripe was with the greens which made things challenging. The length of the grass on the greens was like shag carpet. Too funny. However, everything else was great. Price was right for 18 holes.
Thanks guys.
