"This was a simple transaction in which we basically just changed partners. And, I view it as a wonderful testament to the strength of Grayhawk's reputation in the golf industry," said Gregg Tryhus, owner of Grayhawk Development.

The change in partners will have virtually no impact on the day-to-day operations of the golf club, according to a released statement.

Del Cochran and Tryhus will still be in charge of the two 18-hole championship golf courses, Talon and Raptor, that have been ranked among the top daily-fee golf clubs in Arizona since they opened in the mid-'90s.

Pacific Life, the 18th largest insurance company in the United States, manages $290 billion in assets and was founded in 1868.
