I'm 17 years old and a 3-handicap and I absolutly loved playing We-Ko-Pa Golf Club in Fountain Hills, AZ. I played it last year and I can still vividly remember the course like I recently played it. It is pretty much a desert course so be ready to maybe lose some balls to the desert.

I did not think it was an extremly hard course, but some holes were challenging.

The course is beautiful and it can be enjoyed by players of all ability levels. One cool thing is that when you make the turn they have a grill seemingly out in the middle of nowhere so you don't have to go to the clubhouse to grab food and drink.

Also remember to bring your camera because No. 8 is stunning. The par 5 starts with a fairly easy tee shot, then it gets fun.

You either go for it in two because it's downhill or lay up on a narrow piece of fairway. Personally I went for it in two and made it, so it can be done. Everyone should make it out to the reservation to play a round - it is worth the trip.

  • Are you kidding me?

I'm shocked! A 3 handicapper thought that hole 8 was a good hole? You have got to be kidding me. The hole is a terrible design....TERRIBLE.
If the Snack shack at the turn was open, you are a lucky SOB. I've played it 3 times and it's never been open. I have had the pleasure of being treated like a second rate citizen there each time I've played there.
Yes it's beautiful but the course has some terrible design flaws with clumps of desert in the middle of the fairway on multiple holes. Why in the world would they design a course that way?
The course has no signage and the service is way below par.
Wekopa is lucky they have a beautiful view.
Poorly managed as far as I'm concerned.
