Wigwam Resort's Gold golf course gallery

The newly renovated Gold Course at the Wigwam Resort Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz. throws bunkers at you that look like they're on steroids. This is how Robert Trent Jones Sr. plotted this Phoenix-Scottsdale area golf course when it first opened in 1961, and a $5 million renovation by Forrest Richardson has restored much of that roar.

These giant bunkers - one on No. 10 is large enough to have three palm trees in it - are set in an almost parkland green setting. Water features are in play on several holes, including a canal that runs along most of No. 18 and makes for a dramatic finish.
