I golf all over, and this was the worst experience ever. I decided to try this course for the first time over 4th of July Weekend last year. The day started out great, until I received the golf cart. This particular cart was in disrepair, and would not steer from the beginning, to the point that a tree was bumped right off the first tee.

I did get a new cart, and started to play again. I found the course in pretty poor condition, looking more like an outright desert course, greens included. I was already unimpressed.

At the 9th hole, the marshal came out and stated that the management wanted to see me in the clubhouse. They not only wanted me to pay for their faulty equipment, and when I stated that the cart was bad from the start, the POLICE were called.

I am still dealing with the courts over these guys. So, if you want this level of hassle, feel free to golf there. Otherwise, I would go elsewhere.

Played Western Skies with my wife on Mar 23rd. We are visiting from British Columbia.

Although we were greeted warmly by the staff, there was no bag drop off area and no one to assist with your clubs as there was at other courses we have played in the SE Phoenix area. The practice green was great, but all the greens on the course had just been sanded and did not roll like the practice green.

The course is fairly well groomed, in good shape, and a decent challenge for mid to high handicap players. It does not provide any kind of adrenaline rush for the better golfer (12 minus handicap). Very generous fairways, closely mowed rough and few hazards allow errant shots to go unpenalized. The sandtraps are hard and almost unplayable.

For the price, if you play after 2 pm, it is an OK place to hone your game and an excellent course for high handicappers. It is not worth a repeat performance from my perspective.
