The Boulders Golf Club in Carefree offers two championship courses, the North and the South. The courses are both known for their rugged beauty, sprawling across a Sonoran Desert landscape covered with towering cacti and ancient boulder formations. The North Course is surrounded by the desert foothills of Black Mountain, which provides a stunning backdrop for most of the holes. It is the club's original layout, offering a more traditional layout than the South. The middle tees on the North are player friendly enough for beginners while the back tees present a challenge for more advanced players. The stunning desert landscape offers not only great scenery but also unique glimpses of desert wildlife. Golfers shouldn't be surprised to see a bobcat or coyote during a round.

One of the best in AZ. Beautiful, challenging & impeccably maintained. Don't miss it.

Staff is wonderful and accommodating. Excellent golf shop with tons of apparel.
I must admit, I was disappointed with this golf course. Probably because it was the 8th and final round of an unbelievable trip; and my expectations were a bit high. Not to mention, we played in the afternoon after an outing. The first fairway is in the middle of a driving range? So be prepared to go on an easter egg hunt for your ball, even if its down the middle. 100+ range balls in the first fairway. Again, maybe because it was in the afternoon. Greens were hard and fast, but not the same quality of Troon or Wekopa. The greens were covered in small pebbles from the sand traps. Tough course, somewhat overpriced/over rated. I wouldn't go back next year.
