Rancho Manana Golf ClubTight fairways, thick desert terrain, elevated greens and water on a group of holes make up Bill Johnston's 1987 design at the Rancho Manana Golf Club. Elevated holes present panoramic views.
More than $6 million in renovations over the past decade have added more vegetation, which, together with its reshaped greens, have made the course more playable. To date, Rancho Manana plays a short par-70 at 6,004 yards.
Tight fairways, thick desert terrain, elevated greens and water on a group of holes put a premium on accurate tee balls. And the undulating greens are tricky enough to hit out of the fairway. Many of the putting surfaces are surrounded by steep, rolling banks that can dump shots hit just off-center rolling through the grass, rocks and desert.
