Only Texas (five times) has held the tournament more than Arizona in its 19-year existence. For the first time, the event has a Senior Division because of the availability of tee times. Phoenix Suns basketball coach Danny Ainge, who owns a second home at Chaparral Pines, is paired with John Perkinson, owner of the Inn at Payson. Past locations for the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball Championship have included Pumpkin Ridge last year, PGA West in 1986, the Broadmoor in 1996 and Southern Hills in 1992. The Trans-Mississippi Golf Association, founded in 1900, is one of the oldest golf organizations in the United States. Related links: |

Golf at The Wigwam is a truly classic experience. This Arizona treasure was established in the 1930s, a time when golf courses did not get built through dense housing developments, and certainly not with tight, target fairways. This jewel of the desert is among the Southwest's last remaining golf resorts built for a pure golf experience.
